
The Research Center for Marine Science and Fisheries Syiah Kuala University (PRKP USK) in collaboration with the Management Center for Coastal and Marine Resource Padang (BPSPL) Aceh Working Area held a workshop related to the technique of collecting coral reef data using the underwater photo transect method.
The material was delivered by BPSPL experts namely Kris Handoko, A.Pi., MT. This activity which was carried out online was attended by as many as 65 participants from various institutions from ASN, Academics, Environmental Observers, and Students. For 2 Hours Kris Explained the differences between Coral and Non-Coral during the identification process. “As researchers we have to be able to distinguish these things during the identification process”, said Kris.
Kris also explained that the identification process must be carried out as soon as possible to avoid mistakes in identifying Coral photos, besides that he explained the process of using the CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel Extensions) application in identifying Coral
